SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) — Along Route 66 in Springfield, Missouri, the Rockwood Motor Court —the oldest operating court on the Mother Road — is still welcoming travelers nearly a century after it opened.

Owners Phyllis Ferguson and her husband purchased the property in 2019 and began restoring the 1929 motor court, which now features ten themed rooms designed to preserve the feel of early road-trip America.

“It’s a step back in time,” Ferguson said.
