Marvel at the period features in the guestrooms and throughout the Castle. All the walls are adorned with 16th-century tapestries, which are complemented by antique wardrobes and other furnishings. They are fine examples of how the very wealthy decorated their rooms before the advent of wallpaper, and very few rooms like them exist today.

Admire the ages of history at Appleby Castle. The complex itself consists of two distinctive structures—an imposing medieval keep and an attending country manor. Contemporary scholars believe the tower debuted at some point in the 12th century, most likely around the year 1170.

Relax in the spacious 15th-century dining room, with its silk high-backed chairs, large oak dining tables surrounded by candles, and a high ceiling to create a charming yet distinctive atmosphere. Encased by 17th-century oak paneling with a log burner, guests can spend quality time dining amongst history.
