  • Girls trip!

We had a blast at the crescent hotel! My mother, sister, best friend and I stayed at the gatehouse, and it was wonderful! The beds were super comfortable and we were welcomed at the hotel anytime. We had breakfast in the crystal ballroom and enjoyed the spa services! We will definitely be coming back for another visit! The town is also very welcoming and we enjoyed the shopping but didn't have enough time to do everything!

  • Amazing building

Toured through the hotel and read about what the building was at first and later became and the ghost living there! It was an awesome building and grounds! Wasn't able to go in the ghost tour but will when I go back!! Loved the place and history!

  • Free to visit

The staff was all kind and treated us the same as a hotel guest. We just wondered around to see the building. There's all kinds of history about Dr Baker. We were unable to see the morgue in the basement- we showed up too late for a tour. But they allow anyone to wonder around the grounds and check stuff out. The 4th floor has the Skybar pizza restaurant. You don't have to be a customer to enjoy the view.

  • Relaxation

Spent a night here in September and it was wonderful! Such a beautiful place inside and out. Make sure to walk the grounds which were a highlight for me. Beautiful landscaping. If you are also interested in some fun and history, make sure to do the ghost hunt at night. Just make sure to get your tickets in advance as it sells out pretty quick.

  • Great historic hotel to stay, with a couple caveats!

    by Jerry H on 2019-10-07 01:43 pm

It was a dark and stormy night (really!) on 6 Oct 2019 on our arrival. The current owner and staff should be highly commended as many "historic" places just mean old, but furnishings and service was of the best quality. The caveats are that we stayed on a Sunday night with arrival and check-in at 3 p.m. as confirmed by us and hotel. The first problem was our room was not cleaned and we had to wait with many others until it was serviced, which for us was 4:30 p.m. when we received our room key when we had arrived at 2:50 p.m. and had to wait with the others in the lobby. The second was we stayed in Room 315, which is right below the Ghost Tour room. At 6 p.m. until 6:30 and again at 10:15 until about 10:35 p.m. chairs dragging across the floor above us kept us from napping/sleeping, these two issues were annoying, but the only ones we experienced. Other than that the bed and furniture was antique, with new TV on the wall, small refrigerator, and new bathroom furnishings of very high quality. The Temperature is controlled by a heater/AC unit above the bed with a remote. The bed was very comfortable and having a balcony we could enjoy even during a cool evening rainstorm was highly appreciated. We thought the room was extremely comfortable and noted that the owner had not tried to spare expense in keeping the hotel historic furnishings or making the hotel comfortable for guests.
