Casa Azul Hotel Monumento Histórico is a magnificent historic hotel located a few steps away from the iconic Paseo de Montejo. Built during the 19th century, the hotel was declared a Historical Monument of Mexico for the superb quality of its original architecture. The residence has become a regional landmark that showcases the rich heritage of Yucatán’s Porfirian Age. Under the dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz, the boom of the henequen plant gave the area a new source of wealth and prosperity. The community celebrated this success by constructing many new magnificent buildings, including what is now the Casa Azul Hotel Monumento Historico.
