The Vieux Carre cocktail was invented at the Hotel Monteleone in 1938 by head bartender Walter Bergeron.

Vieux Carre Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Rye Whiskey 
  • 1 oz Cognac 
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth 
  • 1 oz Benedictine D.O.M. 
  • Dash of Peychaud’s Bitters 
  • Dash of Angostura Bitters 

Mix in large old fashioned glass. Add ice. Stir.
