Thank you for an amazing stay to all the staff in this hotel. Incredibly beautiful hotel which is over 100 years old but contemporary and stylish.
Particular thanks to the lovely gentleman at breakfast who quickly noticed that us ladies enjoyed a quiet bubbly with our eggs each morning and looked after us accordingly.
Thank you to Peter in the bar who recommended a local traditional restaurant for us...fabulous...it is called Lado...and to Henrietta who booked it for us.
All staff who took care and attention with every detail.
Above all else friendly and welcoming ???

It was just a perfect stay in a historic hotel !
We loved being located close to the tram line too.
Nice service, room and really delicious breakfast; it is one of the best in town; not to fancy and complicated, just like it should be !
Renovation of the hotel is very nice really.

The Nwmzeti Budapest is an old hotel, that obviously has been refurbished in later time. Our room was modern and clean. It was very space efficient but large enough for us. The bed var very comfortable. The reception was very helpful, both at check-in and check-out. The breakfast was plentyful and very good, in addition the coffee machine made great coffee. The staff at breakfast was very service minded. The hotel is very centrally located. It is within walking distance of most of the sights in Budapest. There are several grocery shops nearby, if that is of interest. The lagest shoppingmall in Budapest is one metro stop away. The metro is located right outside the hotel and it is very easy to use to get around Budapest. We stayed on the first floor and there was some street noise from vehicles, but that is normal for a hotel in a city center. Would definitely stay at this hotel again if I ever come back to Budapest.

This hotel started life as the National and retains many of its traditional features and is now part of the Accor Hotel chain.

The rooms are comfortable and decorated to a high standard. The only issue would be the inability to properly control the temperature in the room. We had to open the large windows to cool the room, which worked well with the outside temperature below 10C. We did experience some noise in the waste water system borne of activity in other rooms in the hotel.

Breakfast is a generous affair with a wide choice of cooked options together with a large selection of cold meats, cheese, fruit and cereals. The bread selection includes some interesting speciality breads complimented with jams and honeys.

Recommend this hotel for its ideal situation near to public transport for visiting all attractions in Budapest. Excellent choice for a weekend city break.

  • An Excellent Stay

    An Excellent Stay

We have recently returned from a 3 night stay at the Hotel Nemzeti Budapest and what a great hotel it is. The style and decor of this hotel is somewhat "boutique" but with all the necessary requirements for today's guests; but if you're looking for a sterile ultra modern hotel with absolutely no character, then this may not be for you. The hotel location is perfect, the rooms are clean and breakfast has everything you would want. We had a bedroom at the front of the hotel and there was some noise from the trams outside, but this did not bother us and only added to the ambience of being in Budapest. If you are not afraid of walking, you can reach the Danube in approx 20 minutes but if not, Budapest does have one of the best public transport systems in Europe. This hotel was a real find with an abundance of bars and restaurants close by. The entire staff team were friendly and responsive when needed and I cannot find fault with the overall service.
