We decided for our business trip this amazing hotel, it was our second stay there. Considering the situation of Covid 19, all went smooth, masks were mandatory only in the restaurant during the breakfast because of buffet. Small disappointment was that we had to take our 4crs dinner included in room rate immediately the first night (of3) because the private event on 15.8. and other days fully reserved.

Having breakfast, a drink or lunch in the patio is one of the specials you can enjoy. Great rooms, very friendly staff and the atmosphere make every stay joyful. The Kempinski team manages to keep highest standards for ages!

    - very luxurious hotel
    - rooms are beautiful, everything inside the room
    - location is excellent
    - parking is easy
    - staff is great
    - very cheap for what you get

    - pillows and beds aren't as luxurious as you'd think
    - restaurant inside the Hotel is just so-so, too much hype and very high prices and only average food <- avoid!
    - not much care about Covid (yet)

Excellent location in neighbourhood to the famous Residence Castle, warm welcome by the friendly staff and special recognition of frequent stayers, the luxury ambiance, spacious and clean rooms, very rich breakfast in hotel's inner courtyard paired with excellent service, all that made the stay unforgettable. Thank you!

  • Magnificent stay

    Magnificent stay

This was our first trip to Dresden, and we came with our youngest girl only (almost 3). In a nutshell: the entire stay was immaculate.

Now some details. Getting there by car is easy, google maps help you stop right in front of their entrance, and parking is available on the other side of the palais in a garage that can directly be accessed from the hotel.

Reception and check-in were smooth with really friendly staff, and appropriate measurements against the spread of Covid 19 have been put into place as well. Information about specific rules is being given during check-in on top of the email you receive from them a few days prior to arrival (including the fact that their spa is currently closed due to Covid 19).

The entire building is huge, a real palais of old times gone by now - a lot of natural stone everywhere, high ceilings, and everything kept in excellent state. We had a suite with a view over the Old Town, it offered a bathroom with shower and tub (separate) and a toilet that could be reached through the bathroom as well as another separate toilet next to the entrance. Due to Covid 19, they do not clean the room -unless- you ask them to (in which case it will be done as usual and free of charge of course). The suite felt very pleasant, and everything was in perfect order there.

Breakfast rules have been adapted as well: enough space is left between tables, and everything is being brought to you on an Etagere along with some plates for bread, etc. The main courses consists of jam, sausages, cheese, fruits, butter, honey, ... anything you can think of, and you can also ask for sparkling wine, bacon, eggs, etc - leaves nothing to be desired.

On top of that, staff is very professional while at the same time really friendly and welcoming - they know how to make you feel at home, and all their smiles were genuine - which we are certainly very grateful for.

For those who like great hosts in a historic building right in the Old Town that also offers more than a fair share of luxury, this is the place to stay.
