Legacy at The Grand, York marks 200 years of railways

Fine dining restaurant Legacy at The Grand, York, has earned its name from the building’s heritage and association with rail travel.
It is a building that for decades impressed visitors to York, standing proud as the headquarters of The North Eastern Railway. For many years it was only for company staff who could pass over the threshold.
Today the welcome is a global one and time spent within the ornate walls is made for leisure and pleasure. Doors may still have office numbers above them, but inside, there are five-star comforts rather than filing cabinets and ledgers.
Many of the guests who make The Grand their home in the city today arrive by train; it’s just a short walk from the station.
