• Experience stargazing in the high desert. Located far away from city lights, Tonopah was named the best place in the country for stargazing due to its unique distinction of having one of the darkest nighttime skies.

• Experience the iconic Belmont Ghost Town, a grand, bustling city that has become one of Nevada’s most iconic ghost towns. Wander among the 150-year-old mining cabins and mill sites, including the towering chimney of the Monitor-Belmont Mill, which was used by the Tonopah Air Force Base for target practice during World War II.

• Experience the Lunar Crater National Natural Landmark, a maar that formed when groundwater came into contact with lava. This crater was used by NASA in 1972 to train the Apollo astronauts for the lunar landing site. The astronauts performed two rover traverses over the volcanic crater and also practiced rock sample collection and checklist procedures.
