• Explore the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse, which is the most historic structure on the island and has been a beacon to mariners since 1890. The house-dwelling-style lighthouse is home to a comprehensive museum that opened in 1999.

• Visit the Don Pedro Island State Park nearby. Stretching for some 129 acres, this amazing outdoor destinationis renowned throughout the state for its beautiful mangrove trees, white, sandy beaches, and population of Loggerhead turtles.

• Travel to the Thomas Edison Winter Estate and Henry Ford Estate. Located in neighboring Fort Myers, these wonderful historic sites were once the winter homes for these two prominent American businessmen. Both desinations today are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
