This Is My Place The Red Lion Inn is a special place filled with tradition and inspiration. The comfortable and inviting front porch, the cozy fireplace in the lobby and the famous dining room where couples and families have gathered over the years hold special memories for our guests. The collections and antiques throughout the Inn provide endless hours of browsing. There’s so much to see. And so much to do. This film tells her story of why the Inn is such a special place to Majora. Firehouse, Part Of The Village Collection This turn-of-the-twentieth-century firehouse was in use by the town of Stockbridge until the 1950’s and was even featured in Norman Rockwell’s painting “The New American LaFrance is Here.” The Firehouse features a spacious living area, a grand dining hall with a farm table and seating for fifteen, a full kitchen with all the bells and whistles, a first-floor half-bath, and a primary bedroom with king-size bed and ensuite equipped with a double whirlpool bath.

Outdoor Pool With The Red Lion Inn In The Background The heated pool and surrounding slate-tiled patio continue to be a guest favorite, no matter the time of year. The pool house features plenty of shaded seating. Fresh towels, games for all ages (including our ping pong table), and display art from in-residence creatives are available for guests to enjoy.

Outdoor Pool In the summer, the pool and spa are popular spots to lounge and enjoy a refreshing cocktail. Come autumn and winter, it’s still abuzz with guests enjoying a dip or a soak in the hot tub.

The Red Lion Inn Apple Pie A La Mode The Red Lion Inn Apple Pie a la Mode, a long-standing tradition, is a dessert favorite amongst many generations who have dined at The Red Inn. It has been a part of the menu offerings since Jane & John Fitzpatrick purchased the Inn in 1969.

Red Lion Chicken Pot Pie The Red Lion Chicken Pot Pie is a cozy comfort-food classic served in the Main Dining Room, with a crown of puff pastry topping chunks of chicken, carrots, parsnips, and peas.

The Courtyard Bar There’s nothing quite like basking under the shade of an umbrella while enjoying casual, outdoor dining on a lazy summer afternoon, or whiling away the evening with a cocktail under a star-filled sky. The flower-filled Courtyard provides a picturesque garden setting for lunch or dinner from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Widow Bingham's Tavern Named for old Widow Bingham, one of the Inn’s original owners, this rustic and family-friendly tavern offers traditional favorites and updated classics. Hearty sandwiches, fresh salads and savory soups are served up in a cozy, yet somewhat quirky setting adorned with historic signs, old posters, wicker baskets, and a hodgepodge of other memorabilia.

Historical Image Of Exterior With People Some of America’s most prominent individuals have visited The Red Lion Inn, including five different U.S. Presidents: Grover Cleveland, William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The Inn had previously hosted numerous luminaries, however, including authors such as Nathaniel Hawthorne and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Historical Image Of Exterior Circa 1970s In 1968, Robert K. Wheeler, a businessperson from nearby Great Barrington, sold the Stockbridge House to Stockbridge locals Jack and Jane Fitzpatrick. (Wheeler had bought the inn several years prior from the Treadwell family.) The Fitzpatricks invested themselves dearly into the daily operations of the Stockbridge House, ensuring that it endured for years to come.

Stafford House A number of unique guest houses are sprinkled throughout The Red Lion Inn Village. Much like the rooms at the Inn, each space has a unique layout and boasts its own personality and charm through by design.

Stafford Room The Red Lion Inn is the perfect site for a wedding to remember. The many distinctive meeting and banquet venues are well-suited to smaller, more intimate weddings. The Stafford House is one of the most requested sites, with its luxurious master suite and lovely staircase.

Hitchcock Room The Hitchcock Room is the largest of our meeting spaces. An entrance foyer provides space for on-site registration and the room layout can easily accommodate a separate area for breaks. Can accommodate 30-175 guests.

Stevens House Down the street a bit from the Red Lion Inn itself , the Stevens House is part of the historical village accommodations. The home includes a King Suite and living areas.
