At the corner of Main Avenue and 7th Street in downtown Durango, two blocks north of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Depot. Close to the Animas River, 25 miles to Durango Mountain Ski Resort, 1 hour to Mesa Verde. Durango-La Plata County Airport: 19 miles, 30 minutes.

Driving Directions

From the north (Denver): Take I-25 South to Walsenberg, then US 160 West to Durango. Once in Durango, turn right on 7th Street and right again on Main Avenue.

From Albuquerque: Take I-25 East through Rio Rancho, and then take US 550 North to Durango. Once in Durango, turn right on 7th Street and right again on Main Avenue.

From Phoenix: Take I-17 to Flagstaff, then take I-40 from Flagstaff. From there connect to US 89 North, then to US 160 East to Durango. Once in Durango, turn right on 7th Street and right again on Main Avenue.

The Strater Hotel is on the Southwest corner of 7th Street and Main Avenue.

Nearest Airport

The Durango Airport (DRO) is approximately 15-20 minutes by car. From the airport take Airport Road/County Road 309 and turn left on CO 172. Next turn left on US 160, which will take you into Durango. Once in Durango, turn right on 7th Street and right again on Main Avenue. The Strater Hotel is on the Southwest corner of 7th Street and Main Avenue.
