    Birthday Celebration!

Loved this historic and charming resort! Lots to do for all from pool to walking trails (all levels of fitness) to food! Had a ball!!! Town looks cute too, but didn't have time to explore!

The staff took us right up to our room even though we arrived prior to checkout. They also allowed us to stay until 1pm the next day. This allowed us another lovely walk, perusing the charming gift shop and lovely lunch ar Tillies!

    Will be returning again!

We arrived for a weekend trip during the Easter holiday. We stayed in the "new" wing of the hotel (built in 2007, I think) and the rooms there were amazing - beautifully decorated, elegant, and the patio was great for watching the sunrise.

The service was top notch - the staff was friendly and accommodating. The Easter activities for the kids were a lot of fun and well organized.

There are several (easy) hiking trails on the property too - some of which take you to the famous mineral springs on the property.

There were many things to do - but we didn't have time to do them all. We'll plan a return trip!

Late last month, my wife and I escaped to the Omni Bedford Springs Resort for a few days away from the grind. This was an excellent choice. Service was first-class from the moment we arrived. The car was unloaded, our luggage sent up to the room, and the car whisked away by the valet service. Front desk staff (too many to mention) were all superbly professional, helpful and friendly.

We got a room upgrade and had a splendid view over the grounds, along with a balcony to step out on when it wasn't too cold. We were in the Swiss Cottage, one of numerous buildings erected over the years and connected into a single, huge complex. We definitely got our steps in going hither and yon during our stay.

The Resort itself is about 225 years old, with the first inn going up in 1796. There is a TREMENDOUS amount of history here; quite a few Presidents and First Ladies have stayed here, and Japanese diplomats were kept here during the latter days of World War II. The walls in common areas are decorated with photos of the Resort in its heyday, the late 19th century and early 1900s.

Bedford Springs has a host of amenities, but COVID considerations have scaled back or shut down quite a few. There's an indoor pool, but you need to make a reservation to take a dip. Likewise, there's a spa, reservations also required to keep guests socially distanced. Some of the shops were closed, mostly those selling clothing and apparel. Also, some of their restaurants are closed, others operate on a limited schedule. This was probably the biggest let-down of our stay. The Frontier Tavern was the only restaurant open throughout our stay ... I'll cover it in a separate review.

Did I mention that the Bedford Springs Resort is dog-friendly? They are, with a $150 non-refundable pet deposit. The staff took good care of our pup, she was welcome everywhere except the restaurant, and they rolled out the special cookies for her. They were freshly baked and smelled almost good enough for me to eat.

That said, we enjoyed our stay, and would gladly head back again.

The resort is stunning, but there was nothing to do because of covid. You have to book time in the pool in advance, and it was magnificent. Unfortunately wanted to try the spa, but it was booked full a month out. But if all you want to do is relax, this place is for you. There's rocking chairs on the porches and lounge chairs everwhere.

What a wonderful place to stay. It is like going back in time! Think of the Grand Hotel on Macinac Island. We hiked their trails in the snow, swam in their HUGE pool, played checkers, ate a delicious breakfast in their tavern (I had oatmeal and scrabble and my husband had eggs) and enjoyed our lovely room. They have so many little nook and cranny rooms. My husband always sleeps in later than me and so I enjoyed one of these little rooms which was so nice and warm. The staff were all so congenial, from the people who park your car, to the check in people to the restaurant staff. I wonderful experience!
